Bristol City has had a challenging time of it since winning promotion to Championship in May. The Robins are currently one place off the relegation zone.

Their hosts on Monday, Cardiff City, have had a better time of it and are hoping to push up into the play-off places with a win at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The two main problems I can see with Steve Cotterill’s Bristol City side is that they aren’t scoring enough and that they are drawing too many games at the moment.

The Robins will be deflated after conceding a late Bobby Zamora saw them leave Brighton with out any points during their last fixture.

Bluebirds boss Russell Slade will be a lot happier after he watched his side breakdown Middlesbrough and also keep a clean sheet.

Like Bristol City, Cardiff would have preferred more goals and less draws but at least the Welsh side have a good winning record with five triumphs in their opening twelve outings!

A big plus for the Bluebirds is having Scottish number one David Marshall in between the sticks. The goalkeeper was a target for West Brom in the summer and the Cardiff supporters will be delighted to see him staying. He is available at 9/4 with Bet 365 to keep a clean sheet against the Robins.

Experienced striker Kenwyne Jones feared he had broken his leg during the last international break with Trinidad and Tobago. The forward has still to resume training and looks to be a big doubt for the clash.

That means added pressure on top scorer Joe Mason who has five goals to his name this season. The twenty-four year old will hope to continue his fine form and catch the eye of Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill. Mason is priced at 5/1 with Paddy Power to score the first goal on Monday night.

Loanee attacker Sammy Ameobi is priced at 13/5 to score at anytime. Centre-back Sean Morrison already has two goals this term and is priced at 10/1 to score at anytime on Monday or at 25/1 to get the opening goal.

The two men goal threats for Bristol City are club captain Aaron Wilbraham and former Angers man Jonathan Kodjia. If you are in a mind that Wilbraham will score the first goal then Bet Victor are offering 7/1, while Kodjia is up at 13/2.

Left-back Derrick Williams scored against Brighton & Hove Albion in their last fixture. He’s available at 16/1 to score at anytime on Monday night.

Bristol City’s only away win in the Championship so far this season came at Middlesbrough, where they secured a 1-0 win. If you think they can match that result then you can find odds of 11/1 with 888Sport.

Cardiff City’s most common result at home during this campaign has been a 2-0 victory (they’ve managed it twice so far). If you think they can produce the same result for a third time then it’s currently available at 12/1.

I think a score draw could be on the cards, 1-1 is the shortest odds on any correct score. A 2-2 result is up at 16/1. Bristol City have managed to record a 2-2 draw twice in the last two months.

If I had to pick a team then I’d go for Cardiff and I fancy them keeping a clean sheet and coming away with another 1-0 score-line. That is available with Bet Victor at 17/2.

For a Cardiff City win you’ll get odds of 13/10. A draw is 12/5. While an away win for Bristol City comes in at 5/2. There's no special offers for this event listed right now. However, it's likely that some will appear soon. Check your favourite sites to see what they're offering!
