Saturday’s evening kick off in the Premier League could be an intriguing one with Arsenal desperate to keep up with the title challengers and visitors Everton hoping to get things back on track after a 3-0 defeat last weekend.
The Gunners are currently in second place in the league and have won their last three domestic fixtures emphatically including a 3-0 home win over rivals Manchester United.
The Toffees have had a mixed bag of league results in their last three matches with a win, loss and a draw. Interestingly Everton have yet to suffer two defeats on the trot so far this season and have performed well against the other London clubs.
Last season the two sides played out to a draw at Goodison Park and Arsenal won 2-0 at the Emirates back in March.
Arsenal are hanging a lot of hope on Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez, who has been in scintillating form in recent weeks. He has opened the scoring in his last two Premier League appearances and you can get him at 7/2 on most betting sites. If you fancy him to bag a treble then Sky Bet are offering that at 28/1.
French hitman Oliver Giroud scored in both Arsenal/Everton fixtures last season, so it may be worth looking at him to score. An anytime Giroud goal comes in at 6/5 with Betfair, while an opening Giroud goal comes in at 7/2.
Attacking Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey is always worth a punt, with Unibet offering 7/1 for Ramsey to score first.
There is no doubt that Romelu Lukaku is Everton’s greatest goalscoring threat and William Hill are offering 9/1 for the Belgian to score the first goal.
After his hat-trick winning performance against Chelsea, Scotsman Steven Naismith is available at 41/10 at both 888Sport and Unibet to get a goal at anytime during the fixture.
For one that is a bit more outside the box you should take a look at James McCarthy. The central midfielder has been given more license to get forward this season and that should see the Irish international score more this term. Various outlets are offering him at 12/1 to score at anytime.
If you fancy veteran Premier League goalkeepers Petr Cech and Tim Howard to keep out the strikers then you can plump for a 0-0 draw at 19/1 with Marathon Bet.
10Bet are offering 10/13 if you believe that both sides will score.
Alternatively a 1-1 draw is at 19/2 with Bet Victor.
After two 3-0 Arsenal wins in a row (plus don’t forget Everton lost 3-0 to Man Utd last Saturday) you can get a 3-0 home win at 11/1 with Bet Victor and 888Sport.
Arsenal suffered a 2-0 defeat after their first Champions League tie. So if you fancy them to suffer similarly after the Bayern Munich match then a 2-0 Toffees victory comes in at a whopping 60/1 with Bet Victor.
Both Arsene Wenger and Roberto Martinez enjoy exciting attacking football, so I can see goals. But I just think the Gunners will be too strong for their tough opponents. Although I can see Everton getting a goal, possibly the first. You can get Everton scoring first at 5/2 with Bet365.
For an Arsenal win the best you’ll get at the moment seems to be 4/9, a draw comes in at 21/5 and an Everton victory is available at around 7/1.
